2019 marks the 4th annual Portland Winter Light Festival, a city-wide event showcasing illuminated art installations, vibrant performances, and stunning kinetic fire sculptures throughout our city. The Festival is family-friendly, free to attend, and open to everyone. TBGO will be joining the Lantern Parade marching up the Waterfront and over the Hawthorne Bridge beginning at 6:30 pm. Bundle up and celebrate the power of light and community with us!

The Mysti Krewe of Nimbus organizes a family-friendly Portland Mardi Gras Parade
every year ("the last Mardi Gras Parade in America"). TBGO was part of this event for the first time in 2017 and returns to the scene of the crime for another year . Parade steps off at 7 PM at Victoria Bar, 4835 N Albina Ave, and heads south on Albina and Mississippi Avenue to Ecliptic Brewing at 825 N Cook.
French American International School

You know what'd be fun? A Mardi Gras parade with a bunch of little kids and a slightly crazy marching band. Well, guess what -- that's what's happening today at the French American International School
. At 9 AM, TBGO will step off and lead a procession from the flagpole at the front of the school to the nearby firehouse on NW Johnson St and back to the flagpole. Immediately afterward we head into the school gym to play some tunes. Hey, for once we're expecting the audience to dance more than the band!

82nd Avenue of Roses Parade

For its twelfth year, the 82nd "Avenue of Roses" Parade kicks off the Portland parade season and we plan to be there! Parade steps off at 9:30 AM at Eastport Plaza (82nd Ave & Holgate) and wends its way north along 82nd Ave to Portland Community College Southeast Center and thence to 78th Ave & Yamhill. Following the parade, come back to Eastport Plaza for a full dose of TBGO fun - we've got a great show planned for you starting at 1 PM. Shake the "winter sleep" off your bones and c'mon out to properly welcome the spring!

What's better than a scenic cruise on Lake Coeur d'Alene? How about a scenic cruise accompanied by a marching band performance! TBGO boards the Mish-an-Nock
for a fun-filled 90-minute cruise on the lake followed by our first-ever performance in the State of Idaho. Join us for a cruise you won't forget! The Mish-an-Nock departs the Lake Coeur d'Alene Cruises dock at 10:00 AM. We'll do a tune or two aboard ship, followed by a show on "the world's largest floating boardwalk" starting at 11:45 am.

The Spokane Lilac Festival
celebrates its 81st year of bringing the largest Torchlight Military Parade in the nation to the streets of downtown Spokane. Featuring bands, floats, military and equestrian groups, drill teams and dancers, cars, and more, this event is fun for the entire community, no matter what your age, no matter how long you have lived in Spokane. TBGO makes its first-ever visit to the Festival; the parade steps off at 7:45 PM.

Garden Home Recreation Center is "home base" for TBGO since we rehearse there year-round. GHRC is holding a Community Night with food and fun for families in the area. We'll be there at 6:30 PM to help provide some extra "zing". Come by starting at 6:00 PM for eats, popcorn, sno-cones, bouncy house -- and trombones!!!

The Procession of the Species
is an annual Recycled Arts Festival tradition, celebrating our community and the natural world through art. The Procession is free and open to people of all ages. Participate in the parade dressed as your favorite plant or animal species, or natural element. TBGO leads the parade through the festival at 11 am, followed by a costume contest on the main stage.

It's Independence Day! We're off to Hood River for a return visit to a great celebration of the Fourth, sponsored by the Lions Club. Parade steps off through downtown at 10 AM, ending at Jackson Park. We'll also get the afternoon festivities at Jackson Park kicked off with the National Anthem around Noon, followed immediately by a stage show featuring patriotic tunes and other TBGO favorites. See you in the Gorge!
Golden Days Grande Parade

Felix Pedro, a young Italian immigrant, started the Alaskan Gold Rush in 1902 with a gold strike in the foothills outside Fairbanks, proclaiming "There's gold in them there hills." Since 1952, the town has collectively celebrated this exciting time with Golden Days, declared one of the country's top 100 events by Destination Magazine. Bank managers dress up as sourdough miners, waitress don "floozy" outfits, and most of the city turns out for races, parades, and great food. TBGO makes its first Alaskan appearance in the largest and longest parade in the state, stepping off at 10 AM complete with some 100 floats, marching bands from across the state, and residents dressed in Gold Rush costumes.
Also keep an eye out for us later in the day -- we're working on plans for a show in the downtown area following the parade.

On July 24, the band boards the Princess Cruise Lines ship Island Princess
and heads south for Vancouver, BC. July 30 is our "day at sea" and we're planning a special show aboard ship for our fellow travelers. There's nothing better than a captive audience!
We're also looking at putting together a show or two in ports of call along the way; watch this page for more information as shows get scheduled.

The Gladstone Community Festival
began as the Chautauqua Festival in 1894. Now, 125 years later, this event continues to bring Gladstone together to celebrate summer with a wide array of entertainment and events. Parade steps off at 10 AM from Gladstone High School and heads down and around Portland Avenue, ending at Max Patterson Park. TBGO will also perform in Max Patterson Park immediately following the parade.
National Night Out

The Bridlemile Neighborhood Association hosts a National Night Out celebration with a picnic in Hamilton Park beginning about 6:00 PM. Since no one wants a quiet, pleasant picnic they've asked us to liven up the joint . Hope to see all you folks from the Raleigh Hills area at the park!

is to support families, friends and individuals with Down syndrome through small gatherings, family outings, providing educational scholarships and attending regional/national events. Opening festivities for the 2019 Buddy Walk begin at 10:30 am, with the walk stepping off at 11 am.
