You're here because you've likely seen or heard of The Beat Goes On Marching Band, and you're interested in being a part of the dance team. Great! You're just what we're looking for! The number one qualification for the dance team is a love of dancing and performing.
Fitness: Dancing while marching is fun, but physical work. Parades are one to two miles long. Staying fit throughout the year is helpful.
Practices: We have one to two group practices a month on Sunday afternoons. We expect members to practice at home as well.
Parades and performances: We perform at 30 to 35 events per year, usually on Saturdays, and usually locally. We do travel out of the area to different states and occasionally out of the country. Our busiest months are July and August, but we have parades and shows throughout the year. Don't worry, you're not expected to attend every event. To learn more about our shows and parades, check out the Performance Schedule on our web page, www.thebeatgoesonmb.org. You can find it under the tab at the top labeled "Meet the Band."
Prices: Members will need to purchase uniform items and accessories. To keep costs down, we spread out the purchase of new uniforms or accessories. New members should plan on spending between $200 and $400 for uniforms, accessories, shoes and hats.
Ok, so you're ready to put on your dancing shoes. Here are the steps to becoming a TBGO dancer:
